For me, there have been two things in planning this wedding that has been very stressful. One being finding a venue. This has been one of the hardest decisions. My family lives an hour and a half from me. My fiance's family is thirty minutes away from me. So to find a venue that fit everyone's travel time was hard. I never wanted to get married in a church. I don't have anything against churches. But, I'm not a fan of having a reception in a fellowship hall with decor that has to stay up. And I prefer having the natural backgrounds of the outdoors. For me, choosing to not have my wedding at the church I grew up in, meant spending more money. Me, my family, my fiance's family all searched for places for us to get married. It was hard trying to find a place that offered everything and was cheap. Luckily, with my fiance being in the military, it had a big to-do with us finally finding our venue. The retired Lt. Colonel and his wife own an old confederate home. They rent this home out for weddings. We set the date there last week!!!! So, that has been one major thing that we can now check OFF our checklist!!!

Where do I begin?!
First off, my name is Heidi. My fiance's name is Josh. We got engaged on May 12, 2011. We are getting married on May 11, 2013! Yes, it's been almost two years since he proposed, and we're not married yet. That's ok!! I had to move to his area and get a full time job. We had to get a house. All the 'fun' adult stuff. This blog is to show the journey that I've had through wedding planning. From the day after we were engaged to the present. Hopefully you'll stick around to see how our wedding turns out!
